Quartet For One

from Back In Free Fall by David A. Harley

/

about

An instrumental piece played on a Baby Taylor strung for Nashville tuning: in other words, the four lovest strings are tuned an octave up from normal. The title comes from the fact that I went into the studio fizzing with ideas after watching a movie caleld 'Quartet': it doesn't mean I'm capable of playing four guitar parts at once. In fact, I consider it a good day if I manage one.

The piece is really too long for the relatively simple idea it represents, but I can't bring myself to hack it about for this album, though I have used extracts for other projects.
